The 5” x 5” Multi-Function Display Head Assembly features a 600 x 600 pixel, 256 grey level display with a wide luminance range and night vision viewing compatibility that can meet exacting aerospace environmental specifications.

The Display Head Assembly consists of a specifically manufactured LCD panel laminated with low specular and diffuse reflectance front glass and heater rear glass, which provides the display with a wide viewing angle, high readability in bright sunlight and rapid response at low temperatures. The Display Head Assembly is driven by a custom designed driver interface board and controlled by several temperature and optical sensors and thermal cut-outs. The high output backlight is a cold cathode fluorescent lamp mounted onto a heat exchanger. The lamp and laminated display are assembled into a rugged machined aluminium frame.
